Some of My Career Highlights As a Business Attorney
For more than 30 years I've been a small business attorney and innovative entrepreneur. Many of the business successes have been in concert with small businesses that our firm has represented and subsequently developed products that became successful on a regional and national basis. One of the successes is a barbecue sauce that we were able to sell in Costco stores.
The picture below shows the opening of a barbecue restaurant that we opened that showcased the barbecue sauce. I am the one to the extreme left in the photo. There is also a picture of the mild sauce that we sold. I was subsequently bought out of the enterprise.
General Engineering Contractor
I became a licensed General Engineering Contractor and created a construction company. In that firm we performed construction engineering contracts from demolition of buildings and earth excavation to laying the foundation for building new structures.
Working within the construction industry has been one of my most enjoyable business ventures and experiences. Some of the people I've worked with in the construction and trade industry have been kind enough to share their testimonies regarding the help our firm has provided to them in their construction and trade business.
Testimonials
Since Roy Landers started his work as our general counsel, it has felt like we have added a power player to our construction team. Having the peace of mind that comes with having someone so competent and capable in our corner is not something that we can put a price on.
He has saved us not only time and money, but also an amazing amount of stress and indecision. I would heartily recommend Roy to friends and family and consider hiring him to be one of the best decisions we have ever made."

Roy has helped me tremendously with his valuable legal and business advice in the operation of my AAMCO Transmission and U-Haul rental business. Through his guidance, I have learned to develop the ideal customer profile for my businesses and to target my marketing more directly.
As a result, my marketing costs have gone down which makes my profits go up. I recommend Roy and his services to anyone in business or thinking of starting one.

Public Service
Along the way of my career I've also had the privilege of serving as a Judge Pro Tem where I sat as a judge hearing and deciding cases involving contract disputes, real estate issues, and personal injury and damage to persons and property.
My time on the bench allowed me to see things from different perspectives and to become intimately aware of the challenges that people have to overcome. It also gave me great insight into the burdens and stresses that small businesses go through with things like mandatory government compliance and business legal issues

My Origin Story
I was born on a cold wintry night in November in a little shanty shack in the country fields of the State of Texas. I am one of eight children raised by a mother with a sixth grade education.
We were "dirt poor" and without much of a future based on the circumstances we lived in.
However, my siblings and I were fortunate. My mother, while not well educated, was extremely smart. She knew the importance of an education and she determined that she would do whatever was necessary to make sure her children did not lack for food and would have an educational opportunity.
She was a domestic worker and washed windows, scrubbed floors and took whatever jobs came her way.
At the age of 5 my father walked away from us and never came back. Mom was alone and struggled to keep us all together and comfortable. She did a great job because I grew up never realizing how poor I was because she sheltered us as best she could.
I hunted and fished and had many adventures and sometimes some harrowing experiences with some of the wild animals in the woods on occasion. Later, I realized that those experiences also help shape my attitude and ability to face challenges that stood in the way of getting to wherever I wanted to go.
One of the best things that happened to me is a mother who absolutely would not allow any of her children to give up. The word "can't" just wasn't allowed. That was the driving force that kept me going as well as her strength and leadership.
When I was 12 years old my mother was treated unfairly by an insurance company and it's agent that took advantage of her. I was too young to do anything about it but resolved to grow up and become a lawyer and to represent those who could not fend for themselves.
Mom couldn't afford to pay for college, but we devised a plan. I would join the armed forces and get the G.I. Bill behind me and attend college once I finished my tour of duty. That was the foundation of my learning to plan and execute and understanding how to get things done if you really want to make something happen.
It has stayed with me until now and has never failed me. Planning and execution are the key to success in anything.
I executed the plan that I created with my mom at the age of 12. The journey took me to the military, the war zone, and through my life growth experiences. I was proud to serve my country and although I am now one of the thousands of disabled American veterans I don't regret one moment of the experience.
I went on to attend undergraduate college and ultimately to law school earing a doctorate in law and a masters in taxation law.
We Concentrate on Delivering Profits and Protection
to Small Businesses
Helping small businesses to find and acquire sales opportunities is one of our main goals. I believe that the term "business attorney" should include providing a legal shield to protect the business and its ownership and to help find ways to make that business more profitable through business development and marketing strategies.
One of the ways we do that is to find and acquire federal government contract opportunities that match the goods and services offered by our clients. This is a method that can be systemized and streamlined and applied to create a stream of income that is reliable and sustainable.
A substantial portion of government purchases are specifically set aside for small businesses. Many of these contract opportunities are between $3500-$150,000 which most small businesses can easily handle.
